The only documents you need for this process are…

Below this article you will find a list of the respective registration offices in Hannover where you can book appointments.
The only documents you need for this process are…
- a copy of your passport
- passport copies of all family members who are to be deregistered from that address
- a sheet of paper with the following information:
- Name(s) and date(s) of birth of the person(s) moving out
- Move-out-date
- Address of the apartment/ house you are moving out of
- Address of the new apartment/ house (at least the country of departure)
- signature(s) of the person(s) moving out
- a statement that you wish to receive a deregistration confirmation
- address where you would like to receive the deregistration confirmation
Once a local registration office in Hannover receives all required documents, the registration office will process your deregistration. This usually takes 2-3 weeks. However, currently due to COVID-19 delays are possible (up to 8 weeks). If you have not heard from them after 4 weeks, we suggest calling them directly. If no documents are missing the registration office will send the deregistration confirmation to the address you are deregistering per default. Hence it makes sense to indicate a friends’ address where you would like to receive it.
